Bridging the Gap for Municipalities

When I took over product leadership for Lofty’s Bridge Deck Assessment tool, our mission was clear but technically demanding: help civil engineers detect delamination using drone data and machine learning. The challenge? A low sample diversity of bridges, a complex user experience requirement, and existing tools didn’t meet real-world inspection needs.

I led a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, and designers to stitch drone sensor data into accurate surface models and train robust ML systems to detect delaminations. But we didn’t stop at the model—we built a full platform around it: one that surfaced insights clearly, matched real inspection workflows, and worked for engineers in the field.

I drove the roadmap, user interviews, and sprint cycles from 0-to-1 to ensure we solved actual pain points—turning a cutting-edge ML system into a usable product. The result: DOTs and municipalities replaced expensive manual inspections with a scalable, tech-driven alternative that improved safety, reduced risk, and saved thousands per bridge.
